Denver,
Colorado
Geotechnologies, Inc. was awarded the contract to build
the foundation for a new GIS program for the City of Denver,
Colorado. The project will provide the basis for all future
mapping by the Citys new GIS Department. In this
project, all data on the City Public Works 1=100
scale maps were captured. These maps are in a standard
¼ mile format. The maps were scanned and the raster
images were adjusted to fit an accurate GPS grid that
has been created over the city. The primary item captured
in this project was the Lots and Block line-work and related
information. Once the maps were captured, the final output
was ESRI Arc/Info format. The city was divided into four
quadrants and each of these was created as a complete
GIS coverage. Geotechnologies was able to do this in ½
the timeframe expected and 40% under budget.
